Corona, here we come!

It is official. Aaron and I will be moving back to Southern California, to our hometown Corona. We are very excited and have much to do in the next three weeks. Aaron got a job down south and as for me I may have some opportunities of my own (possibly working from home part-time). We will be moving into my parent's home, living in Christian community with them. We will have 2 bedrooms which is awesome! I know the Lord will do some great work in us as we begin yet another chapter in our lives.

We are sad to be leaving Roseville. I was blessed with a wonderful job while living up here, teaching 6th grade. I will miss my students and my teaching partners. But yet another experience to put on my resume! I have also become very attached to the junior high girls that I mentor. They have become my life outside of my marriage, and my job. I know that they are going to miss me, as I will them. We have been blessed by some wonderful friends up here.

We have three weeks to pack! And I have 2 weeks left at my job. A lot will be happening in these next few weeks. We are excited to be back with family. Our nephew was born on Friday and we have 2 more nephews on the way in May! It'll be great to be back with all the little babies. I love being an auntie. :) It's so fun to spoil the little ones.

::faith & encouragement::

This week has been a week filled with such encouragement & faith.

I have been encouraged by two important women in my life. These women are my 2 roommates from college. I have spent a many phone calls with one who lives across the country. And knowing that at times we are going through the same situation, we are thinking of each other and praying for each other. I have been blessed by her words of encouragement, her sensitivity, and her faith in me as a woman of God. At times she helps me get through the day. Also, I spent the day with Cat, my beloved friend. She is expecting her first baby in June and I am so happy for her. We spent hours talking and shopping, it was like we were never apart. It saddens my heart that she is moving up the Hume Lake, but I am so thankful the Lord has provided for her and her husband. Praise be to Him!

"Live by faith, and not by sight". I keep repeating this to myself as I live through each day. I have been studying scripture and praying for strength in the area of patience and faith. I know that the Lord is going to provide me with an amazing job up here, and maybe if he's not providing me with full -time employment, maybe I'll be hired on for part-time for a reason.... I can see a possible family in the future for Aaron & I, but I'm waiting to see what the Lord wants for us. I had a preliminary interview today with Sylvan Learning Center for a tutoring position. This isn't just sitting with a kid and watching him do his homework. Sylvan tutors actually get to teach curriculum! I'm excited to put my teaching skills into practice. We'll see where this leads me.

I can't believe Aaron & I are coming up on our 2 year anniversary! Wow, how time flies. He was such a sweetheart yesterday and when I came home from running errands the house was clean! And he's working all weekend, what a sweetie to find time to clean the house for me. And I'm the one unemployed! Ha.

Off to enjoy lunch with Aaron.

discouraged.

I am feeling very discouraged about finding a job up here. I have applied to at least 10 schools up here. And today I even called the private school on the church campus, Adventure Christian School. I left a message with the principal -- we will see if she calls me back. Aaron keeps on encouraging me that I will find a job. I *really* want a teaching job! I've worked so hard these last 6 years, I don't want to throw that away. I'm sure I am qualified for other fields. But I would love to have my own classroom! I know this is the time where I am supposed to pray, trust, and depend on the Lord. Sometimes that can be the hardest thing to do!

Other than that... I'm excited to have the Price's over on Friday night. I am making my famous orange chicken and rice!!!! Mmmmm so good! Well back to budgeting, laundry, and cleaning the house!

::Roseville, our new home::

We are moved in, unpacked, and settled in our new home. We absolutely love our surroundings. The weather has been nice and cool, beautiful! We are surrounded by oak trees and I love it.

Aaron has settled into his job and he is enjoying it. He is surrounded by some amazing people. We can't wait to get a little more involved in the church and make some friends!!!!! I'm getting lonely being at home 24/7. But I am anxious to catch up on my scrapbooking! SOOO excited. We have made our 2nd bedroom into an office and I even have a little scrapbooking corner. It's amazing!

Pictures will be coming soon of the place. Aaron wants all of our pictures up --- before I take pictures. He is ordering some prints of his photography to go in our living room. Gotta wait 'till those come! Other than that we just got our internet and phone today and Monday comes the cable!!!!

I have a few goals while I am unemployed:
-workout at the gym (lose 10-15 pounds!)
-layout at the pool and get a nice tan for summer
-scrapbook more (there are many unfinished projects waiting)
-finish reading sisterhood of the traveling pants
-read narnia series
-read harry potter series
-read twilight series (don't own these ones yet)
-spend time with one of my besties catherine (roommate from college!!!)
-spend more time with my dad's side of the family (they live up here)
-make some friends at adventure
-get involved in a ministry at adventure

Just a few goals! :)

::countdown::

We have 10 days until we move. I think it is starting to hit me. Yesterday I spent the entire day with one of my best friends Shelby. It was a nice day of relaxing, shopping, watching a movie, playing Wii and talking. We had dinner with 2 of our other girlfriends which was nice! We haven't even started packing our bedroom, I guess I should get started on that... the boxes are sitting in my car. In 10 days we will be up in Roseville, enjoying the sunshine, unpacking boxes, and setting up our new home. We are so excited to have our own place again. I get to cook again! We get to have our own space again. I am so excited for this new endeavor in our lives, I know that it will strengthen our marriage and strengthen us as individuals. I JUST CAN'T WAIT. I'm getting so antsy. :)

Now off to packing and whatnot. Blessings!

PS - keep me in your prayers that I might get a job, I've applied to 8 jobs already.

.new chapter.

Aaron & I are very excited for this new chapter in our lives. He has been offered a wonderful position at a church up in Roseville, CA. The church is Adventure Christian Church. And our beloved friend works at this church -- Adam Price. Adam has been wanting Aaron to come up and work at the church for awhile now. We spent our weekend up here, enjoying the beautiful surroundings, weather, and the people. The people are very down to earth up here and we just love that there is so much nature to enjoy! Aaron will be working as a video designer at the church!!! We are moving in 3 weeks. We have found the cutest apartment that is surrounded by a couple of acres of oak trees, there are bike trails, a tennis court, pools, a gym, an activity center and so much more to enjoy at our complex. We have been so blessed these past few weeks, we just cannot wait to move! It's nice that everything is already packed up in a storage unit. :) I have been applying to teaching jobs up here for next school year. I know that the Lord has something great planned for me too!

I pray that I can soak up what I call "home" in these next few weeks. I want to say thank you to all of you who have helped us out along the way...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Love and peace.
I'll be posting pictures of Roseville soon!

Some thoughts for the day...

  • My voice is gone, and didn't realize how much this affects my teaching. I had a full week of work lined up --- and BAM I lose my voice so I have to give up some days of subbing.
  • It is discouraging hearing about all my dearest friends receiving their RIF notices. Will there be a job for me next year?
  • Part of me wants to move, far away, and start a new life with Aaron in a new place.
  • I like to watch "America's Best Dance Crew" because it inspires me to dance again.
  • I miss 2 of my dearest friends from college. Cer & Cat. I love you both, and think of you often.
  • I'm on facebook way to much.
  • I like eating breakfast for dinner. Tonight was: scrambled eggs, cooked potatoes, freshly squeezed oj, and some cantaloupe.
  • My favorite coffee shop shut down, both locations in Corona! I will miss you Coffee Bean.
  • I am searching for some answers in my life, and it's really hard. We have been presented with something, but it would be a HUGE change for Aaron & I.
